While Chris flew from London to Milan Italy, I took a short train from Lugano Switzerland to Milan to meet her. We had been to Milan before several year ago, so this was just a short trip to have lunch and see the cathedral before heading back to Lugano. Actually the last time we were here, the entire front of the cathedral was covered with scaffolding for restoration so we were happy to see that it was now complete and we could see the front. Also in Milan is the location of Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper located at the Santa Maria delle Grazie church. You must have reservations ahead of time to view the painting. We had visited it on our previous trip, so did not go back again this time. |

| Train Station: Milan's train station is large and located in the center of the city. Buses to and from Milan's two main airports Malpensa and Linate arrive and depart from the right side of the station. The subway also connects the station to the main tourist areas in the city. | |||

| Milan Cathedral: Built from the late 14th well into the 19th century (and in a sense, never completed as work continues), the Duomo di Milano is one of the world's largest churches, being second in size within Italy only to Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome, and being the second largest Gothic cathedral in the world, after the Cathedral of Seville in Spain. | |||

| Basilica Di San Carlo Al Corso: Built to replace the medieval church of Santa Maria dei Servi, Milan headquarters of the Servites, the current building is a fine example of neoclassical style, inspired by the Pantheon in Rome. | |||
