This will be the last update to our travel website for our stay in England although we will continue to make updates for our future travels.  We also need to complete the updates from past travels to Europe, India and China.  We won't be traveling as much as we did while living in England, maybe a trip or two a year.  There is still so much more of Europe we wanted to see but did not have the chance.  We feel so fortunate to have been able to do and see all that we did.  We need to see more the USA as we have not even been to the Grand Canyon which is only a State away.  Our website contains so many memories of the things we did and we appreciate all your comments on it.

Now that we are back in Colorado, we are missing all our friends and neighbors in Windsor.  We had such a great time for the short 2 years and 9 months we were there.  It's hard to believe its all over now and that we are back living in the States.  We have met so many wonderful people and everyone made our stay in Windsor so much more then we ever imagined.

We want to give special thanks to Patsy, Sue and Justin for hosting our farewell party before we moved away.   They spent a lot of time organizing everything and even making some last minute changes to accommodate Eddie's last minute travel plans.  We really appreciate all they did for us and for making everything so special.

We miss all  of you, take care and hopefully our paths with cross again in the future.

Eddie & Chris

Andrew & Tanya

When we first moved in, Andrew and Tanya were our neighbors in the garden flat next to us.  Andrew is from New Zealand and Tanya is from St. Petersburg Russia.

They were really nice and we enjoyed hanging out with them.  After a year of so, they moved about a block away and rented their flat.  We still ran into them quite often in Windsor and even played badminton at the leisure center with Andrew.

They were unable to attend our farewell party as they had a holiday in France scheduled.  They stopped by a few days earlier for this photo.  We will miss both of you and thanks for being such good friends and neighbors.

Sue & Justin

Sue would visit us often and learned sign language very well to communicate with Chris.  She would wiggle her fingers in the front door mail slot to get Chris's attention when Eddie was not home.

Justin is a great guy and we are hoping they will both be able to visit us in the future once we get settled down.

We will really miss the conversations, tea, cooking with the wok but not so much the blue bathrobe.

Thank you both again for organizing our farewell party!

Patsy & Chris

Patsy lives in the building next to us and was one of the first people we met in Windsor.  Patsy works in Windsor Castle supporting St. George's Chapel located within the Castle.  Patsy learned sign language and was able to communicate very well with Chris.

She was one of our best friends and we want to thank her for all the wonderful things she did for us: Garter Day, Frogmore, Buckingham Palace, Gavi, M&S Cheese Biscuits, M&S Hot Chocolate, afternoon tea, stimulating conversation and much more.

Of all the experiences we had while living in England, Garter Day is at the top of our list.  Seeing the Queen and all the pageantry so close was just so amazing.

Patsy's daughter lives in Chicago so we are hoping that on one of her visits she will be able to stop in Colorado and see us.

Thank you again for helping to organize our farewell party!

Chris & Lynne

Lynne is a friend from the Eton Excelsior Rowing Club who rowed with Chris from the learn-to-row class all the way up until we moved.  Thanks again for bringing Chris home after rowing practice, learning some sign language and for being such a good friend.  We also want to say thank you for the wonderful rowing photos and frame that you made, it will look wonderful hanging in our home in Colorado.

Mike, Kathryn & Sally

These are our neighbors on the top flat in our building directly above us.  Mike is from the USA and Sally is from England.  We enjoyed talking with them and even tried to convince them to move to America rather then Swinden.

They enjoyed barbecuing and we hope they will continue to do so with our old BBQ grill.

Glen & Maggie

Glen and Maggie lived across the street from us and were very nice and friendly.  We want to give a special thanks for helping us out so much by purchasing most of our 'for sale' items before we moved.

Thank you for the delicious home cooked meal, it was wonderful.  Maggie also made the going away cake that was so delicious and quite clever.

Tony & Cynthia

We met Tony and Cynthia by mistake as we thought another person from Eddie's work lived in their flat.  We knocked on their door to say hello and found out it was the wrong flat.  We started talking and it turned out that Cynthia is an artist just like Eddie is trying to be.  The amazing thing is that she is from Tulsa Oklahoma just like Eddie.  Her parents still live in Tulsa and only a few miles away from Eddie's mother.  She also graduated from the University of Oklahoma just as Eddie did.  Talk about a small world.  Cynthia was also one of Chris's cycling partners as they used to cycle through the Windsor Great Park during the summer.

Friends and Neighbors in our Garden at Trinity Place in Windsor

Thanks again for everything and we will miss all of you.  Everyone made our experience living in England and especially Windsor more then we could have ever imagined.

We will miss you all.

Alan & Brenda

Alan and Brenda are from Wyoming and have lived in Windsor for several years.  We owe our thanks to them for helping us get a garden allotment in Windsor.  We were able to plant and grow our own vegetables although we did not spend as much time in the garden as we should have.  It was nice knowing you and seeing your smiling faces.

Stephanie & Will

These are our new neighbors who just moved from London into one of the flats above us.  We only met them a few days before the party but were happy they joined us.  They said that everyone seemed so friendly in Trinity Place.  They said it was a big difference from living in London where their neighbors did not really talk.  Sorry we did not get the chance to know you better.

Jorge & Aida

Jorge and Aida are from Spain and as you can tell Aida is very pregnant.  They were both nice neighbors and were very good about helping to take the bins out on trash day, thanks for that.  We wish you both the best and especially with you new baby which will soon arrive.

Patsy & Mark

Patsy just happened to be in the photo, but Mark lived in the flat directly above us.  He was very nice and we mostly talked through his kitchen window which was directly above our front door.  Sorry we did not get to know each other better as we always had busy schedules.  It was nice having you as a neighbor.

Cynthia, Chris & Jackie

Cynthia and Jackie are Chris's cycling friends.  Jackie lived a few streets over and would join Cynthia and Chris as they cycled through the Windsor Great Park.

Maggie & Tony

Maggie and Tony live just down the street and were such a nice couple.  They have one of the most beautiful front gardens on the street.  They actually had a flat for sale that we really liked but unfortunately it was a little out of our price range.  It would have been the perfect place to live, rent or stay while visiting on vacations.

Eddie & Justin

And finally a photo of Eddie with Justin getting something to eat and drink.

Dinner with Patsy & Sue: We took Patsy and Sue out for a nice dinner at the Thai Square restaurant in Windsor for a going away dinner.

Dinner with David & Sarah: These are our friends David and Sarah who are both deaf.  They know British Sign Language and enough American Sign Language that we could all communicate.  (BSL is not anything like ASL)  We met David after only living in Windsor for about a month.  We were walking back from Eton across the Windsor-Eton Bridge and David was walking towards us and saw us signing.  He stopped us and we were able to communicate a little.  We exchanged contact information and went out later with him and some of his friends to a pub in Eton.  We got together periodically but not as much as we should have.  We had not seen David for several months then about 1 month before we had to move back, we ran into him again unexpectedly and made plans to have one final dinner together with him and his wife at the Zizzi Italian restaurant in Windsor.  We will miss both of them as they were such a nice couple.
