Arriving in Brussels at the central train station, we stopped in to a hotel and got a map.  The prices were around 150 Euro's / nt.  So we decided to look around.  Being low season, we told the hotels we only wanted to pay about 50 Euro's / nt.  We finally found one for 65 / nt., right in the main Grand Place Square.  It was nice and also came with breakfast.  I would not recommend showing up without a hotel reservation during tourist season, but this time of year was not a problem.

Brussels was nice for a day, that is about all you  need to see the major sights in the city.  There are many other places in Belgium we would like to see, so we will probably return to Brussels as a stopping point on another journey.

Around the Town: This building was decorated nicely for Christmas.  It's located across the street from Manneken Pis.

Brussels Cathedral: The is Brussels magnificent cathedral in the center of town.

Eurostar: Our Eurostar train at the Brussels MIDI station.

Mussels in Brussels: Eddie had 4 meals of mussels while in Belgium.  They were very delicious and filling.

Grand Place: The center of the city.

Manneken Pis: Eddie can still remember being at this statue when he was very young.  Here you can read the story of the famous statue.  The status is actually quite small, maybe not even over 2 feet tall.

Manneken Pis: This is a picture of Eddie when he was young and visited Brussels; along side of a picture from our trip.

St. Catherine Church: Another church we found while walking around the city.
